WHAT STUDENTS LEARN
Take on advanced technology.
This program is for students ready to connect advanced technologies in a larger engineering project. The curriculum includes open-source robotics, mechanical and PCB design, sensors, 3D printing, AI, machine learning and camera vision. Students also learn to document their work in an engineering journal and manage changes with GitHub and version control.
CURRICULUM
What the work involves.
These areas bring the course topics together. Activities and pacing are adapted to the batch.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Skills students work towards.
- Explain how mechanical, electronic and software parts contribute to a project.
- Discuss where AI, machine learning or camera vision can help a system.
- Record design decisions and test results in an engineering journal.
- Use version-control practices to organise and track project changes.
Students build these skills through practice, with guidance suited to their starting point.
LEARNING BENEFITS
Habits that support the work.
Connect advanced topics
Work across hardware and software rather than seeing each technology separately.
Keep a useful record
Make project decisions and tests easier to revisit and explain.
Develop engineering habits
Plan, test, analyse and improve a system through repeated work.
